Tushar, Saurav in joint lead in Bihar U-7 chess

Patna, November 21, 2009:
Tushar Sinha of Patna and Saurav Anand of Purnia shot into joint lead with two points each at the end of boys’ second round of the Bihar state under-7 chess championship here on Saturday.

Usha Arya of Patna with two points took sole lead after as many rounds in the girls’ section.

Earlier, Sanjeev Kumar, joint secretary, All Bihar Chess Association (ABCA) inaugurated the tournament. Rakesh Ranjan, joint secretary, ABCA, national players Krishna Prasad, Alok Kumar Singh, Abdul Hasib and Akhauri Vinit were present at the inaugural function.

Results (boys after second round): Tushar Sinha (2) bt Harsh Raj (0) and Saurav Anand (2) bt Kumar Harsh Vardhan Singh (0).
Girls (after second round): Usha Arya (2) bt Janvi (0); Manya Divyam (1) bt Akhauri Sakshi (0) and Sindh Saloni (1) bt Garima Gaurav (0).
