Raj Inter High School, Dumraon lift Rock soccer trophy

Patna, November 15, 2009: Raj Inter High School, Dumraon won the Rock inter-school football tournament title trouncing Army School, Danapur 5-0 in a one-sided final at the outer ground of the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Sunday.

Dominating Dumraon boys took a commanding 3-0 at the end of the first half.

Dumraon played magnificently with short and crisp passes. They outplayed their rivals in all departments of the game. Ajay Kumar Sharma opened the account in the 7th minute with a power-packed volley. Dumraon had another chance in the 11th minute but Ramesh Yadav’s shot ricocheted off the cross piece. Three minutes later, Krishnakant shot wide from a close range.
Aay Kumar Sharma increased the tally in the 17th minute (2-0). In the 21st minute, Dumraon scored the third goal resulted from a good move initiated by Ramesh Yadav and Sonu Shrma. Ramesh struck the goal (3-0).

After the breather, Dumraon boys scored two more goals to take the final tally to 5-0. Ajay Sharma netted the fourth in the 48th minute (4-0) while Bhola Jha made it 5-0 in the 52nd minute.

Navnit Kumar, director, Rock Security and Intelligence Services Private Limited distributed the winners and runners-up trophies. Kumar Vijay, secretary, Bihar State Kabaddi Association, Jwala Prasad Sinha, office secretary, Bihar Football Association and Rajendra Prasad Yadav, secretary, Patna Football Association distributed the individual prizes.

Jitendra Kumar Sinha, secretary, Patna Football Referee Association gave away the prizes to all referees, who supervised the tournament. Manoj Kumar, tournament director welcomed the guests and Ravindra Nath Rai, president, Association for People’s Welfare and Development (APWAD), the organizers of the tournament, proposed a vote of thanks.
