Nalanda and Arwal posted wins while Bhagalpurgot a walkover against Begusarai on the second day of 61st Bihar state and inter-district football championships for Moinul Haq Trophy in Purnia on Monday.
According to information reached here, Nalanda edged out Jehanabad 1-0. Chandan Bharti of Nalanda netted the match winner in the 30th minute. Goaltender Piyush Kumar of Nalanda was declared man of the match.
In another match, Arwal outplayed Sheikhpura 2-0. Sunil Kumar of Arwal, who was declared man of the match, scored both the goals in the 38th and 81st minutes of the game.
In the last match of the day, Bhagalpur got the full points as their their rivals Begusarai did not turn up for the match.
