Easy wins for Saharsa, Jamui and Madhepura

Patna, November 3, 2009: Saharsa beat Gaya by 29 runs in the inaugural match of the Bihar State inter-district U-19 CK Nayudu cricket tournament at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Tuesday. In the other matches of the day Jamui humiliated Sheohar by eight wickets and Madhepura crushed Jehanabad by six wickets.

Batting first Saharsa made 123 for 5 off 20 overs while Gaya could score 97 for 9 off 20 overs. Sheohar mustered 63 for 6 off 15 overs and Jamui replied with 66 for 2.
Jehanabad scored 100 off 18.3 overs while Madhepura raced to the target losing four wickets.

Earlier, Bihar Sports Minister Renu Devi inaugurated the tournament. Arun Kumar Sinha, local MLA, Manoj Nath, Director General, Bihar State Sports Authority and Mritunay Tiwari, president, Bihar Players’ Association were present in the opening function.

Gaya: 97 for 9 off 20 overs (Mangal 24, Sumit Raj 22, Rajesh 2 for 17 and Alok 3 for 20).
Sheohar: 63 for 6 off 15 overs (Naveen 10, Kamalesh 2 for 7).
Jamui: 66 for 2 (Amit Nicky 24, Manish 28, Bhasker 1 for 5).
Jehanabad: 100 off 18.3 overs( Sonu 16, Santosh 13, Joytish 3 for 13).
Madhepura: 104 for 4 (Alok 21, Mahboob 16, Ritesh 15, Kundan and Rohit one wicket each).
