Patna, November 9, 2009: Dehli Public School (DPS) clinched the girls’ team championship title of the inter-school table tennis tournament emerging top in the round-robin league at the Secretariat hall here on Monday.
In the last league match, DPS girls crushed St Karen’s High School 3-0. St Karen’s got the second position.
In the boys’ team final, Patna Central School ‘A’ beat DPS 3-1. In the sub-junior boys’ singles, Umang Sinha (Don Bosco Academy) thrashed Akash Kumar (Holy Mission) 11-9, 11-8 and 11-2 in the first round.
Results: Sub-junior-boys’ singles (first round): Umang Sinha bt Akash Kumar 11-9, 11-8, 11-2; Rishutosh (Christ Church) bt Shiv Raj Rai (DPS) 11-6,13-11, 11-8 and Aditya Umang (St Xavier’s) bt Ytharth (Loyola HS) 11-9, 11-8, 8-11,11-3.
