Patna, November 13, 2009: Gazipur Football Club cruised into the semi-final of the Ramehwar Singh memorial soccer tournament beating Eastern Railway, Asansol, 1-0at the New Police Lines ground here on Friday.
It was a fierce encounter as both the teams launched attacks and counter attcakes right from the very start of the match. Md Sarfraz of Gazipur scored the match winner in the 26th minute.
Gazipur were leading 1-0 at the end of first half.
In the second half, Asansol men tried hard to bring in the equaliser but poor marksmanship came to their way. Wasim and Sunil of Gazipur were shown yellow cards by referee Umesh Singh for rough play.
