Patna, November 7, 2009 Army School, Danapur needed penalty shootouts to tame Gyandeep Kendriya Vidyalaya, Shahpur 3-2 and moved into the final of the Rock inter-school football at the outer ground of the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Saturday.
Army School took 1-0 lead in the first half. Army boys shot into the lead in the 27th minute when sriker Kundan Kumar passed a crisp floater in the box from the right flank and striker Abhishek headed it into a goal.
Shahpur boys bounced back in the 46th minute when Dhananjay shot home to equalize the lead 1-1.
In the second half, both the teams played attacking football but failed to break the deadlock. Penalty shootouts came into force to decide the winners. Krishnakant and Rana Kumar scored for the Army School while Pawan found the target for Gayandeep Kendriya Vidyalaya.
