Chandni emerges PWC champions


Patna, November 25, 2009:
Patna Women’s College organized its annual sports day at its ground on Wednesday. A large number of students participated in the track and field and other events to celebrate the occasion. Chandni Kumari of BA-I won the overall championship title collecting maximum points.

Suman of BA-II took the runner-up title while Samira Fatima of BCom-III won the indoor championship’s trophy. Bihar Legislative Assembly speaker, Uday Narain Choudhary inaugurated the meet in a gala function. Bihar Minister Dr Anil Kumar and Patna District Magistrate Jitendra Kumar Sinha were the guests of honours at the opening function.

The day began with the hoisting of the college flag followed by march past, lighting the torch, opening ceremony and oath taking and a the welcome song “Swagatam Hai Aapka”.

Dr Sister Doris D’Souza, AC, principal, Patna Women’s College, addressed the students and encouraged them to excel in every field of life.

Events that enthralled the spectators most were dumb bells by the students of BCom-II, yogasana by BSc-I and II, hoops by BA-I, dandia by B.A-II and aerobics by vocational.
Later, Uday Narain Choudhary gave away the prizes.

Teachers and staff members of Patna Women’s College also participated in the sport events. Shobha Shrivastava got the first prize in teachers’ game while Amoli got the second prize. Anshu had to be satisfied with the third prize.
Students also made a formation of 26/11 on the ground after the sports events to pay homage to the victims of 26/11 Mumbai terros attack on the eve of its first anniversary.
