Patna, November 22, 2009:
Banka beat Katihar 5-3 in penalty shootouts in the opening match of 61st Bihar State football championships for Moinul Haq Trophy in Purnia on Sunday.
According to information reached here 40 district and institution teams are participating in the 21-day long event.
The match ended 1-1 as Banka and Katihar failed to break the deadlock at end of regulation time. In shootouts, Banka struck four goals while Katihar netted two.
Earlier Raj Kishor Keshri, MLA inaugurated the tournament.
