BMP boys struggle to beat XI Star

Patna, November 1, 2009: BMP Boys Club struggled to beat XI Star, Mokama 2-1 in the Patna senior division soccer league at the New Police Lines ground here on Sunday while Eleven Brothers FC beat Taj Club 1-0 in the other match that filled with controversy.

BMP boys were leading 2-0 in the first half.

Md Shahnawaz opened the account in the 12th minute with a rasping pile diver. Dhananjay Kumar increased the margin in the 30th minute. Rama Shankar Prasad reduced the margin in the 70th minute for XI Star.

In the first match, Eleven Brothers FC shot into the lead through Vijay Gurung in the 15th minute. The controversy erupted in the 26th minute when officials of Eleven Brothers lodged a protest against some unregistered players of Taj Club. Referee asked the players to give their signatures on a paper. Taj Club refused it and walked off the filed protesting referee’s decision. Later, the organizers declared Eleven Brothers the winners.
