Unity Cup: African team Sikkim Police in semis

Combined United African team thrashed UKFC Darjeeling 3-0 while Army Boys Danapur stumbled out of Unity Cup All-India football tournament losing to Sikkim Police 3-5 in shootouts at Jalkaoura (Khagaria) on Wednesday.

With this victories both the winners moved into the semi-finals.

In the first match of the day, Army Boys Danapur shot into lead off a 58th minute goal by Lakshman Mumrmu after a barren first half play. Karma Bhutia brought the equalizer for Sikkim Police in the 74th minute to make the score even 1-1.

In the shootouts, Danapur boys struck two while Sikkim Police netted four goals to win the match. Lakshman Murmu of Danapur was adjudged man of the match.

The second match of the day saw Combined United African team dominating the proceedings from the word go and made series of attacks on Darjeeling citadel. African team struck in 35th, 85th and 87th minutes of the game. At the breather, winners were leading 1-0.
