BCA T20 cricket: Fluent wins for Patna, Chapra

Patna and hosts Chapra chalked out their second consecutive victories in the Super League Pool 'B' matches of the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) Twenty20 tournament at the Rajendra Stadium in Chapra on Thursday.

Now, the battle between Patna and Chapra slated for the morrow will decide the Pool 'B' champions who will play Samstipur in the final.

In the first match of the day, Patna crushed Saharsa by 64 runs while Chapra scored a fluent eight-wicket win over Bhojpur.

Batting first, Patna piled up a modest 132 runs for the loss of six wickets off 20 overs. Nishant (30), Rajesh (29) and Mridul (20) came good with the bat. Kaushik Raj and Badal captured two wickets each.

In reply, despite a valiant 27 from skipper Kundan, Saharsa crashed out for a meager 68 runs. Patna captain Rajesh Sinha bowled well to bag four wickets for 19 runs. Rajesh was later adjudged man of the match.

Batting first, Bhojpur crawled to 119 runs off 20 overs. Umesh (27) and Satyaprakash (18) did the bulk of scoring. Princeraj took two wickets for 25 runs while Tanvir got as many wickets for only 7 runs.

In reply, Chapra looked in a hurry and achieved the target losing only two wickets. Sanjay Kumar was the star as he hammered 70 runs off 55 balls. Sanjay was awarded man of the match.
