Army Boys, Danapur edged out Bihar Police 7-6 via tiebreaker in the Unity Cup All-India football tournament at Jalkoura (Khagaria) on Monday.
Army Boys shot into the lead in the very fifth minute of the first half as Rajesh Soy scored a brilliant field goal.
Army Boys were leading 1-0 at the lemon break.
After the change over, Army boys mounted pressure on the rivals' penalty area and J Lohar put his team 2-0 up in the 50th minute.
At this stage, the real drama began. Bihar Police, who were surprised to have a 0-2 deficit from new bees, rejuvenated themselves and combined well to launch counter attacks from both the flanks. Mohammad Fayaz netted the first goal for Bihar Police in the 52nd minute of the match to make it 1-2.
Bihar Police took complete command of the game as their halves feeding the ball well to their strikers. Pankaj Kumar of Bihar Police brought the equalizer in the 54th minute 2-2.
After gaining the equalizer, Bihar Police looked like a different team altogether. Debashish Roy put Bihar Police into the lead in the 73rd minute with his solo effort 3-2.
Army Boys fought hard in the closing moments of the match and Arjun Tuddu got the parity in the 84th minute 3-3.
In the tiebreaker, Bihar Police struck three out of five while Danapur boys converted four in to the goals.
In the inaugural match of the tournament on Sunday, Azad Sporting Club Jalkoura thrashed Jamshedpur Sports Association (JSA) 4-0 to begin their title hunt in style.
Azad Sporting shot into lead off a third minute goal by David. Illiyas made it 2-0 in the 11th minute of the game while Shahwaz increased the margin 3-0 in the 35th minute of the match

Anwar Hussain did it 4-0 in the 75th minute. Earlier, Dular Chandra Yadav, MLA inaugurated the tournament.
