Hosts Chapra thrashed Saharsa by six wickets while strong contender Patna routed Bhojpur by 10 wickets in the pool B Super League match of the Bihar Cricket Association twenty20 tournament at the Rajendra Stadium in Chapra ob Wednesday.
Batting first Saharsa collected 76 runs. Chapra skipper Kaisar Ahamd took two wickets for 11 runs while Prashant Singh begged three wickets for 9 runs. In reply, Chapra achieved the target losing four wickets.
In the second match of the day, Patna bowled Bhojpur out for paltry 84 runs. Patna skipper Rajesh Sinha was the pick of the bowlers claiming four wickets. Sridhar got two wickets.
In reply, Indrajeet (39 not out) and Mridul (39 not out) put on an unbeaten stand of 85 runs to steer Patna to an impressive ten wickets vitctory.
Bihar team for National Sub-jr. boxing meet named
Bihar team for the 24th National sub-junior boxing championships to be held in Gangtok from December 5 to 11was announced on Wednesday, according to Bihar Boxing Association secretary Rajiv Kumar Singh.
Team: Shravan Rai (captain),Sandeep Kumar, Md Danish Raja, Amit Kumar Suman, Mukesh Suman (all Bhagalpur), Govind Kumar, Rakesh Kumar (Patna), Zia-ul Haq (Katihar), Babul Lal Paswan, Ishwarjeet Kumar, Vikash Kumar (all Muzaffarpur), Saurav Kumar, Manas (Begusarai) and Manish (Bhojpur).
