Hard-fought victory for Panchsheel Club

Patna, December 8
Panchsheel Cricket Club chalked out a 14-run win over Amar Cricket Club in the PDCA senior division league at the Patna Science College ground here on Sunday.

Batting first, Panchsheel made 214 runs in 40 overs. Nishant Mohan played a hurricane knock of 74 runs with 10 boundaries and three mighty sixes. Rohit (28, 3x4, 1x6), Raj Kishan (27), Sanjeev (22) were other notable contributors. Ravi Sinha claimed three wickets. Dhirendra, Rupak, Pankaj and Sanjeev all took one wicket each.

In reply, Amar Cricket Club could score 199 runs off 38.2 overs Dhirendra slammed a half-century 51 runs with five hits to the fence. Pintoo and Raj Kumar both bagged three wickets each. Atish took two wickets.

According to Arun Kumar, convenor, the senior division league matches from December 8 to 14 have been postponed due to selection trials of the Patna University cricket team.

Big win for Bokaro Public School
Bokaro Public School defeated Lions Cricket Academy, Buxar by 75 runs in the Randhir Verma memorial inter-school cricket tournament at the Sanjay Gandhi Stadium here on Sunday.

Rohit of Bokaro Public School, who claimed four wickets, was declared man of the match.
Electing to bat first, Bokaro boys garnered 173 for nine wickets off 21 overs. In reply, Lions Cricket Academy could manage to score 98 for nine wickets.

St Michael's School girls bag basketball title

St Michael’s High School and Patna Central School claimed the girls' and boys' titles respectively of the Slam Dunk Taksheela basketball championship at the Delhi Public School courts here on Sunday.

In the girls' final, St Michael’s School edged out Army School, Danapur in a keenly contested fight 8-6. Patna Central School outplayed Delhi Public School 52-32 in the boys' final. Akshay Chandra of Delhi Public School and Anamika Saril of St Michael’s High School were declared best player of the tournament in their respective groups. B Vinod, principal, Delhi Public School distributed the prizes.
