Patna, December 8
Patna won the first Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) Twenty20 cricket championships title defeating Samastipur by 75 runs at Rajendra Stadium in Chapra on Sunday.
Batting first, Patna scored 153 runs for the loss of four wickets. Indrajeet Kumar (43), Kundan Gupta (36 not out), Mridul (40) and Aditya (13 not out) did bulk of the scoring. Patna skipper Rajesh Sinha hit only 14 runs. Giridhar took two wickets while Manish and Prabhat got one wicket each.
In reply, Samastipur stumbled out for 78 runs. Vbhuti (16), Sanjeev (11) and Brajesh (10) reached the double figures. Vinit and RK Rana captured three wickets each while Sridhar and Rehan Khan bagged two wickets each.
Indrajeet was adjudged man of the match. Sanjay Kumar Rahul of Chapra won the man of the series and best batsman awards while Patna’s Rehand Khan got the best bowler award.
DSP Raj Kumar Karn, who was the chief guest at closing function, gave away the prizes. BCA secretary Ajaya Narain Sharma was present at the prize-distributuin function. BCA vice-president Vibhuti Narain Sharma conducted the function.
Earlier on Saturday, Patna beat Chapra by 14 runs to enter the final. Electing to bat first, Patna made 120 runs and then restricted their rivals for 106 runs.
