Begusarai won a grand double in the Bihar State Rural sports meet for kabaddi and kho-kho that concluded at Darbhanga on Friday. Begusarai lads clinched the kabaddi title defeating Madshepura 48-20 while their girls overcame a stiff challenge from Bhojpur 35-32 to claim the crown.
In kho-kho boys final, Bhagalpur dished out an overwhelming performance to outplay Patna by an innings and three points while Muzaffarpur fought hard to down Jehanabad by five points and won the girls’ title.
Earlier, in kho-kho semi-finals, Jehanabad beat Buxar and Muzaffarpur beat Gaya.
Additional Director General of Police, Darabhanga Region, Arun Chandra Verma was the chief guests at the closing function and he distributed the prizes. Darbhanga District Magistrate Arun Kumar presided over the function. Students drawn from various schools of Darbhanga staged attractive and enchanting cultural programmes during the function.
