Sukhdeo cricket: Dony Polo Public School too strong for Sports Hostel, Gorakhpur

It was a record of sort low scoring match in the quarter-final stage of the on going 24th All India Sukhdeo Narain memorial inter-school cricket tournament at the DAV Public School, BSEB Colony ground here on Tuesday as Sports Hostel, Gorakhpur boys fumbled out for a meager 31 runs. Their rivals Dony Polo Public School found it an easiest ever target they ever got in this tournament.

The result was written on the wall as Dony Polo School hammered Sports Hostel, Gorakhpur by ten wickets to enter the semi-finals.

Kislay Kanan of Dony Polo School emerged as the star performer with three wickets and unbeaten 28 runs. He was later adjudged man of the match.

Sports Hostel skipper Gufran Khan won the toss and elected to bat first. At the end of the innings Gufran must had been thinking, it was not the right choice to bat first. Dony Polo School pace bowlers Kislay Kanan, Vivek and Satish tore apart Sports Hostel batting line up with their pace and accuracy as they were all out for 31 runs off 14.5 overs. Not a single batsman from Gorakpur reached the double figures. Kislay Kanan (3 for 9), Vivek (3 for 8) and Satish (3 for 4) brought in a disastrous end for Sports Hostel.

In reply, Kislay Kanan stroked in a hurricane 28 not out runs with seven hits to the fence to guide his side to a comprehensive 10-wicket victory in 2.4 overs.
