Bihar sub-junior taekowndo players excel

Bihar won two silver and one bronze medals in the National sub-junior taekwondo championships in Lucknow recently.

Bihar Taekwondo Association (BTA) secretary Ajay Kumar said Puja and Pratima won silver medals while Hufeza Akhtar got the bronze medal in their respective weight groups.

BTA president Leema Inchen and assistant secretary Manish Chandra Roy congratulated the players for the medal-winning feat.

Prachi to lead Bihar karatekas
Surbhi Prachi will lead an 18-member Bihar team in an International karate championship to be held at Navi Mumbai from December 26, according to Sensei Pankaj Kambli. The tournament is being organized by Itosu-Rio-Karate-Do-India.

While giving a warm send off to the team, principal of the St Joseph's Convent High school, Sister Jayce distributed the track suits to all members of the team.

Team: Surbhi Prachi (captain), Pushpanjali (vice-captain), Kavya Komal Gupta, Aparajit Singh, Moulika Prasad, Sanjna Priya, Garima Bharati, Khushbu, Arpana Gupta, Priya Kumari, Samella Ambrin, Sagar Kumar, Sagar Lee, Sarvajit Kumar, Samarth, Aditya Sirjan, Abhishek and Praveen.

Bihar in third position at Deaf badminton
Arun Kumar and Varsha Soni claimed the third spots in the men's and women's singles event of the fifth National badminton championship of the deaf at Indore recently, according to Md Athar Ali, secretary, Bihar Sports Council for Deaf. Sofia Salma and Ruchi Kumari got third position in the women's doubles event.
