Bihar volleyball: Bhagalpur women in last four

Patna, December 6
Bhagalpur women moved into the semi-finals of Bihar State inter-district volleyball championships defeating Munger and Muzaffarpur respectively in their pool matches at Ambika High School ground in Ami (Dighwara) on Friday.

Bhagalpur beat Munger in the opening match of the women’s section 25-7, 25-13 while in the second match they slammed Muzaffapur 25-7, 25-11. In another match, Begusarai Blue beat Arwal 25-7, 25-11. In all 20 matches were played on the second day of the tournament.

In the men’s section Bihar Police and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limted (BSNL) teams dominated the show winning their all the played on Friday. Bihar Police trounced Darbhanga 25-10, 25-10 while BSNL thrashed Kaimur 25-11, 25-15.

Men’s: Patna beat Buxar 25-9, 25-5; Saran beat Banka 25-22, 25-19, Nalanda beat Naugachia 25-17, 25-12; Bhagalpur beat Sitamarhi 25-18, 25-13; Patna beat Nawada 25-5, 25-9; BSNL beat Munger 25-7, 25-13; Begusarai beat Muzaffarpur 25-11, 25-9; Bihar Police beat Lakhisarai 25-19, 25-20; Khagaria beat Bhojpur 25-13, 25-4.
