The third day of the 4th Airtel Mastermind inter-school chess championships saw Vijay Kumar with four points taking the sole lead at the end of fifth round in the boys' under-16 section at Rajendra Nagar Government High School hall here on Tuesday.
Rupesh Ranjan with 3.5 points to his credit was at the second spot in the same age group.
Rishi Shankar earned five points in as many rounds to emerge the sole leader in the boys’ under-14 section while Siddhant Gautam with five points surged ahead in the boys’ under-10 age group.
Four players Ayush Anand, Siddhartha Khanna, Ayush Kashyap and Samir Sengar with four points each were at joint second position in the boys’ under-14 category.
