PDCA league: Impressive win for Patna College

Patna College steamrollered Kamala Nehru Cricket Club (KNCC) by seven wickets in the opening match of the Patna District Cricket Association (PDCA) senior division league at the Science College ground here on Saturday.

Earlier, the Arun Kumar Sinha, MLA, and Science College principal Professor Uday Narain Lal Mathur inaugurated the tournament. Bihar Cricket Association secretary Ajay Narain Sharma, PDCA president Dr Amarnath Singh, professor Kriteshwar Prasad, Arun Sinha, Ram Kumar, Rajesh Singh, Raju Walsh, Sanjay Singh, Uday Kumar Singh and Ashish Sinha were present at the opening function.

Batting first KNCC made 141 runs off 38.4 overs while Patna College chased the target easily losing three wickets off 35.1 overs.

Brief scores: Kamla Nehru Cricket Club: 141 all out off 38.4 overs (Uttam 17, Nishant 22, Shashi 14, Prince 23, Sunil 3 for 19, PG Gyani 2 for 20, Vikash 2 for 16).
Patna College 142 for three off 35.1 overs (Vikash 12, Akash 21, Amit 45, Sunil 32 not out, Gyani 13 not out, Prince 2 for 21, Rakesh 1 for 10).

Junior Triumphant advance
Junior Triumphant Academy handed a 56-run defeat on Vivekanand Academy in the Randhir Verma memorial inter-school cricket tournament for SIS Cup at Sanjay Gandhi Stadium here on Saturday.

Suman of Triuphant, who took four wickets, was adjudged man of the match.

In the second match of the day, Sports Hostel, Patna outsmarted Miller High school by 137 runs. Shashim of Sports Hostel, who hammered an electrifying century (143 off 77 balls), was named man of the match.

Brief scores: Junior Triumphant Academy: 132 for six off 18 overs (Ravi 20, Vikash 20, Rajesh 19, Abid 2 for 22). Vivekanand Academy: 76 all out off 15 overs (Suman 4 for 15, Rajesh 2 for 14, Sunny 2 for 16).
Sports Hostel 274 for 4 off 21 overs (Shashim 143, Aman 77, Nitish 20 not out, Shashnak 2 for 49).
Miller High School: 137 all out off 19.3 overs (Sarbajit 26, Alok 26, Saurav 3 for 23, Mritunjay 2 for 19).
