Priyanka Dayal, Sarita Singh (both Arya Kanya School), Sakshi (Dyanand School), Nisha Bharati (Bankipore Girls High school) were among the 30 players to move into the girls' singles next round of the Star India state-level tenni-koit championships at Bankipore Government Girls School courts on Monday.

Earlier, Star India Constructions Private Limited chairman-cum-managing director, SB Prasad inaugurated the tournament in a colourful function. Speaking on the occasion Prasad extended all possible help to needy students and assured jobs in his company to talented players.
Bankipore Girls’ School principal Bilkis Jehan, presided over the function. Bihar Tenni-koit Association secretary, Neeraj Kumar Pappu welcomed the guests. Lala Madan Singh, Star India general manager Ekta Kumari Jindal and office-bearers of other sports associations were present at the opening function.

Women’s singles: Diksha beat Sumedha 2-0; Jasmin beat Simran 2-0; Neha beat Ravi 2-1.
Girls U-16 first round: Priyanka Dayal beat Priyanka Kumari 2-0; Sakshi beat Sandhya Singh 2-0; Sarita Singh beat Seema Bharti 2-0; Sweta Pathak beat Komal Kumari 2-0 and Akansha Lal beat Shobha Kumari 2-0.
