Bihar girls storm into U-17 national soccer final

 

Patna, July 2, 2022: Bihar Juggernaut rolled on as the state team move into the final of National U-17 Women's Football Championships defeating Haryana 3-1 in Guwahati on Saturday

Now, Bihar will play the winners of Arunachal Pradesh and Dadra Nagar Haveli match in the final.

Shruti Kumar opened the account for Bihar in the third minute of the game (1-0). Saniya of Haryana netted the equaliser in the 16 the minute (1-1). Sabara Khatun put Bihar into the lead in the 21st minute through a nice looking goal (2-1). Bihar were leading 2-1 in the first half.

The second half saw tough fight between the two teams as both the teams made several attempts on the opposition posts. Lucky Kumari swelled the victory margin for Bihar in the 79th minute (3-1). Later, Lucky was adjudged player of the match.

Bihar girls move into National U-17 soccer semi-finals

Bihar U-17 girls football team 

Patna, June 29, 2022: Bihar girls entered the semi-finals of the Junior National Under-17 Girls Football Championship being played in Guwahati. Bihar defeated Manipur 3-2 in the quarterfinal match.

 Oinam Babita Devi of Manipur opened the scoring in the 15th minute of the game. Ten minutes later, Shruti Kumari of Bihar scored a goal to level the match. The score was tied at 1-1 in the first half.

At the start of the second half, Manipur's Thingbaijam Sangeeta Devi scored a goal to give Manipur a 2-1 lead. Efforts were being made to score goals from both sides. In the 66th minute of the game, Sabra Khatoon tied the goal for Bihar and the match was tied at 2-2.

After this, several attempts were made by both the teams to break the deadlock. Towards the end of the game, Lucky Kumari scored a goal in the 87th minute of the game to give her team a 3-2 lead which lasted till the end.

Selection trials for Bihar sub-junior football team from October 18

Patna, October 12, 2010: Bihar Football Association will organize selection trials of Bihar sub-junior team at Bhagalpur from October 18.

Bihar Football Association secretary Syed Ejaz Hussain said Bihar would take part in the East Zone qualifier for the 33rd Sub-junior National football championship for Coca-Cola Mir Iqbal Trophy to be held at Bargarh in Orissa from October 22.

Bihar would take on Orissa in their first match on the opening day, he added.

Bihar team for Santosh Trophy announced

Patna, July 19, 2010: A 20-member team will represent Bihar in the 64th National football championships for Sanotsh Trophy being played in Kolkata, according to Bihar Football Association president Arjun Vikram Shah.

He said Bihar would play their first match against Railways on July 22.

Raj Milk win Sadbhavana Cup football

Patna, June 20, 2010: Raj Milk Football Club won the Kingfisher Sadbhavana Cup football tournament demolishing Bihar State Electricity Board (BSEB) 5-0 in the final at Gandhi Maidan here on Sunday.

Raj Milk shot into commanding 3-0 lead in the first half.

Raj Milk Football Club took the command from the very start of the match and scored goals at their will.

Raj Milk captain Md Shahid opened the account in the 13th minute (1-0). Raj Milk’s Nigerian striker Uzoma netted the second goal in the 19th minute (2-0). Md Shahid scored again to make it (3-0).

After the lemon break, Raj Milk swelled the margin through Md Shahid in the 73rd minute (4-0). Viplab Dhar made it 5-0 in the 78th minute (5-0).

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) national general secretary and newly elected Rajya Sabha MP, Ram Kripal Yadav and manager of Kingfisher, Bihar and Jharkhand, MEA Usmani jointly gave away the prizes. Mirtunjay Tiwari, president, RJD, Sports Cell welcomed the guests.


Rajendra Prasad Yadav, secretary, Patna Football Association, former Bihar Santosh Trophy player Jwala Prasad Sinha, state panel cricket umpire Manoj Kulmani, RJD youth leader Pintooji and Sunil Kumar were present at the prize-distribution function.

Raj Milk set up title clash with BSEB

Patna, June 19, 2010: Raj Milk Football Club sneaked into the final of the Kingfisher Sadbhavana Cup football tournament edging out Bhakhtiarpur Club 3-2 through tie-breaker at Gandhi Maidan here on Saturday.

Raj Milk Football Club will take on Bihar State Electricity Board (BSEB) in the final.

BSEB move into Sadbhavana Cup football final

Patna, June 18, 2010: Bihar State Electricity Board (BSEB) opened their campaign in style beating SAI Training Centre, Patna 2-0 in the opening match of the Kingfisher Sadbhavana Cup football tournament at Gandhi Maidan here on Friday.

BSEB took 1-0 lead in the first half.

With this win, BSEB moved into the final of the four-team tournament.

Earlier, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) State president Abdul Bari Siddiqui inaugurated the tournament. Mirtunjay Tiwari, president, RJD sports cell, Ram Bachan Rai, MLC, Rajendra Prasad Yadav, secretary, Patna Football Association and Jwala Prasad Sinha were present at the inaugural function.

Satish Deogam to lead Bihar sub-junior football team

Patna, December 7, 2009: Satish Deogam will lead a 20-member Bihar team in the 32 sub-junior National football championships (final round) to be held at Gurgaon from December 10, according to S Ejaz Hussain, secretary, Bihar Football Association.

Purnia to host Bihar State football championships from November 22

Patna, October 31, 2009:
The 61st Bihar state football championships for the SM Moinul Haq Cup will be held at Purnia from November 22, according to Jwala Prasad Sinha, office secretary, Bihar Football Association. Katihar District Football Association will meet face Banka District Football Association in the opening match.

Sri Ganesh High School, Bakhtiarpur to represent Patna in Subrato Cup

Shri Ganesh High School, Bakhtiarpur, beat BN Collegiate High School 3-1 via tie-breaker in the final of the Patna district inter-school football tournament for Subrato Mukherjee Cup at the outer ground of the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Saturday.

Now, Shri Ganesh High School, Bakhtiarpur, will represent Patna in the inter-district football tournament for Subrato Mukherjee Cup.

Afzal to lead Bihar in Santosh Trophy

Bihar Football Association announced a 24-member Bihar team for the 63rd National football championships for Santosh trophy to be held in Chennai from May 24.

According to Syed Ejaz Hussain, secretary, BFA, Md Afzal Alam will lead the Bihar team while Gopi Nath Dutta will be the coach.

Banka to host women soccer from Feb 18

Patna, February 3
The sixth Bihar state women football championship for Dr Swaminandan Cup will be held at Banka from February 18.

Jwala Prasad Sinha, office secretary, Bihar Football Association said defending champions West Champaran, runners-up Begusarai, Patna, East Champaran, East Central Railway (ECR), Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Munger, Nalanda, Chapra, Khagaria, Lakhisarai and Purnia would take part in the championships.

Patna clinch Moinul Haq Trophy

Patna, January 24
Patna clinched the 60th Bihar State inter-district football championships for Moinul Haq Trophy defeating East Central Railway, Samastipur division 5-4 via tie-breaker in Gaya on Saturday. With this win Patna stamped their authority on the trophy for 23rd time.

Babloo Thapa’s final kick found the target while Patna goalkeeper Surendra Guru made a full length dive towards right post to stop the kick taken by Samstipur’s Pankaj Kumar.
The match ended in a goalless draw after the end of regulation and extra time. It was a match full of thrill and excitement with strikers of both sides struggling hard to find the target despite their all out efforts.

Surendra Guru of Patna and Anup Kumar of Samastipur were declared best 11, while Md. Afzal was adjudged best 22 for the final match. Md. Shahbaz of Patna and Santosh Kumar of Gaya were declared best players of the tournament.

Magadh division commissioner, Dr KP Ramaiah, gave away the prizes. Magadh range DIG Praveen Vashishtha, Gaya DM, Sanjay Kumar Singh, SP, R Malar Vizhi, BMP-3 Commandant Ravindran Shankaran, Indian Sports Medicine national president Dr Farasat Hussain, AM Karimi and Khateeb Ahmad Khan were among others present in the final match.

Earlier, Patna set up title clash with East Central Railway, Samstipur defeating hosts Gaya 5-3 via tiebreaker. Debashish Roy put Patna into the lead in the 10th minute through his lone effort. Santosh Kumar equalized the lead in the 40th minute. At the breather, both the teams were locked 1-1.

The second half also failed to produce the result despite attacking soccer adopted by both the teams. The extra time also ended in 1-1. In the tiebreaker, Patna struck four goals while Gaya netted two.

Earlier on Tuesday (January 20), East Central Railway (ECR), Samastipur entered the final defeating Siwan 2-0 through tie-breaker in the first semi-final.

EC Railway, Samastipur in semi-finals

East Central Railway, Samastipur stormed into the semi-finals of the Bihar State inter-district football championships for Moinul Haq Trophy defeating Saran 2-1 in a quarter-final match in Gaya on Friday.

Ramesh Kumar put Samastipur into the lead in the 30th minute of the first half. At the lemon break, Samastipur were leading 1-0.

Md Inteshar increased the tally in the 61st minute through his lone effort. After gaining 2-0 lead, Samastipur played a kind of slow soccer in the remaining part of the match. Saran took the opportunity to their stride as Hareram reduced the margin in the 88th miniute (2-1).

Moinul Haq Trophy: Siwan, Mansi in quarter-final

Siwan scored an impressive 4-0 victory over Aurangabad in a pre-quarter-final match of the Bihar state inter-district football championships for Moinul Haq Trophy in Gaya on Tuesday.

In another pre-quarter-final match of the day, East Central Railway, Mansi crushed East Central Railway, Jamalpur 3-0. Fayaz Alam struck twice to put Siwam ahead. Md Anwar and Vimal Tudo scored a goal each.

In the second match Anupam Kumar netted a hat-trick for Mansi. Anumap opened the account in the first half. He scored two more goals to complete his hat-trick. Mansi were leading 1-0 at the breather.

Earlier on Monday, East Central Railway, Samastipur and Saran moved into the quarter-finals. Samastipur edged out Motihari 6-5 via sudden death while Saran got walk-over against East Central Railway, Danapur, who failed to turn up.

In an exciting match Samastipur and Saran played a goalless draw during the regulation and extra time. The tie-breaker too proved futile as both the teams remained locked at 4-4. In the sudden death, Samstipur prevailed 6-5.

Patna soccer probables named

Patna Football Association on Thursday released a list of probables to select Patna team for the 60th Bihar State football championships to be held in Gaya from January 4. The selection camp of the probables will be held at Sanjay Gandhi Stadium here from Janauary 2 to 10.

Patna Football Association secretary Rajendra Prasad Yadav said Shyam Babu Yadav would be the in-charge of the camp. Hemant Kumar Chowdhary (Bihar Police) would be the coach of the team, he added.

Combined African XI win Unity Cup

Patna, December 23, 2008
Combined United Africa earned a lone goal victory over Junior Army XI, Lucknow to clinch the first Unity Cup All-India football tournament title at Jalkaoura (Kahgaria) on Sunday.

In an exciting battle for supremacy, both the teams dished out quality football to give glimpses of class play for strong rural crowd who had thronged the stadium braving the bone chilling cold.

After a barren first half, Esimi netted the mach winner for the African team in the 65th minute of the game. Junior Army XI boys tried hard for the equalizer but in vain.

Murmu to lead Bihar U-19 football team

Lakhi Ram Murmur will lead Bihar in the 45th junior National under-19 football championship for the BC Roy Trophy to be held at Bhilai from December 24, according to Jwala Prasad Sinha, office secretary, Bihar Football Association.

Unity Cup: United African team moves into final

Patna, December 20, 2008
Combined United Africa will take on Junior Army XI, Lucknow in the final of the first Unity Cup All-India football tournament at Jalkaoura (Khagaria). In the second semi-final on Friday, Combined United Africa steamrollered Sikkim Police 5-1.

African team started in whirl-wind fashion and tormented Sikkim Police defence umpteen times through their power-packed and adroit football. Sikkim Police just were no match to this African team and surrendered meekly.

Unity Cup: Junior Army XI, Lucknow in final

Patna, December 19, 2008
Junior Army XI, Lucknow, stormed into the final of first Unity Cup All-India football tournament trouncing GTC, Shillong 4-1 in the first semifinal at Jalkaoura (Khagaria) on Thursday.

Junior Army boys dominated the entire match from the very start and never allowed their rivals to have some breathing space. Shillong men did not play their best and resorted to rough play throughout the match. They were upset over a referee’s penalty kick decision in the 10th minute of the first half against their side.

Deepak Shreshta of Army XI played a total and heart out football. He engineered several moves by and fed his forwards well. Abhishek Gurung capitalized the moment much as he scored three goals. CB Thapa netted in the other goal for Army XI.
