Sukhdeo cricket: Vivek scripts Holy Mission win


Patna, November 19
Vivek Kumar displayed a brilliant all-round performance to guide Holy Mission High School into the third round of the 24th All India Sukhdo Narain memorial inter-school cricket tournament at the DAV Public School, BSEB Colony ground here on Wednesday.

Vivek captured four wickets for 25 runs and later, with the bat he remained unbeaten on 11 as Holy Mission High School notched up a three-wicket victory over Sambhavana Residential School in a second round match. Vivek Kumar was adjudged man of the match.

Batting first, Sambhavana boys scored a paltry 107 runs off 19.4 overs. Mr Extra top scored with 40 runs. Abhishek Kumar (11), Ashutosh (27, 5x4) and Prushotam (16 not out) were the other batsmen to reach the double figures. Manish Kumar, Prabhat Kumar and Prakash Kumar all took two wickets.

In reply, Holy Mission boys gathered the required runs in 24.2 overs losing seven wickets on the way. Atmeshwar Kumar’s 30 was the highlight of winning team’s innings. Abhishek Kumar took three wickets for 21 runs for the losers.

Earlier on Tuesday Sri Mahanth Harihar Das High School cruised into the third round beating Cambridge High School by 34 runs. Anand of Harihar Das School, who remained unbeaten on 21 runs and took a wicket, was declared man of the match.

Batting first, Harihar Das boys were collected 153 runs off 29.2 overs. Guddu (17), Sanjeev (14) and Harish (28) were the notable scorers. Amit captured three wickets for Cambridge High School.
In reply, Cambridge boys could make 119 runs off 26.1 overs.

Brief scores: Harihar Das School: 153 all out in 29.2 overs (Gddu-17, Ranjeet-10, Sanjeev-14, Harish-28, Sandeep-14, Anand-21 not out, Amit-3/33, Radhe-2/24, Ritesh Raj-2/22).
Cambridge High School: 119 all out in 26.1 overs (Rohit Kmar-124, Vishwajit-20 not out, Radhe-13, Munna-2/12, Chandan-2/10, Chintoo-2/6).

Organising Secretary Bijoy Kumar Narain Chunnu said the third round matches would be played from Thursday.

November 21: Adarsh Bharati Academy vs Satyam International.
November 22: Residential Prakirtik School vs Dony Polo Public School.
November 23: Lord Buddha Public School vs SDS Public School.
November 24: St Karen's School vs MS Memorial Academy (senior).
November 25: Sri Mahant Harihar Das High School vs Holy Mission High School.
