Lord Buddha Public School stormed into the pre-quarter-finals of the 24th Sukhdeo Narain memorial inter-school cricket tournament defeating SDS Public School, Chapra by six wickets at the DAV Public School (Board Colony) ground here on Sunday.
Arnav Kumar of Lord Buddha School, who made top scored with his 39 runs, was adjudged man of the match.
Batting first SDS Public School boys could manage to score 111 runs off 28 overs. In reply, Lord Buddha School boys raced to the target of 22 overs losing four wickets on the way.
Brief scores: SDS Public School: 111 off 28 overs (Atal Behari 21, Anand Mohan 13, Shakir Iqbal 13, Kumar Shubhman 18, Manish Raj 3 for 20, Vivek Kumar 2 for 24, Shashikant 2 for 24 and Ranjay 1 for 20).
Lord Buddha School: 112 for 4 off 22 overs (Arnav 39, Sumit 35, Sanjay 2 for 22, Anand 1 for 21, Shubham 1 for 14).
Bihar sub-junior chess team
Bihar chess team left for Mangalore on Sunday to participate in the National sub-junior chess championships beginning there from November 26, according to All Bihar Chess Association secretary Rakesh Ranjan.
Teams: Boys: Rupesh ranjan, Nilesh Shankar, Rishi Shankar, Siddhath Gautam, Sonu Kumar and Ayush Anand. Girls: Shristi Gautam, Anku Kumari, Surabhi Raj, Tauja Bharati and Eli Dutta.
Bihar sub-junior TT team announced
Bihar Table Tennis Association secretary Mukesh Roy on Sunday announced Bihar sub-junior team that would take part in the National sub-junior table tennis championships to be held at Vijaywada.
Teams: Sub-junior boys: Piyush D Gandhi, Anmol and Rahul Prakash.
Cadet boys: Amit Kumar, Gagan Kumar and Saurav Kumar.
Cadet girls: Payal Kumari and Shubha Sabbal.
