Patna dished out a convincing 135-run win over Sheikhpura in the opening match of the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) inter-district T20 championships at the Patna College ground here on Sunday.
The fortnight-long championships began at the eight different venues of the State simultaneously.
Earlier, Patna College principal RB Singh inaugurated the Patna leg of the tournament. Dr Madhu Sharma, Sanjay Kumar Singh and BCA office-bearers including its secretary Ajay Narain Sharma were present at the inaugural function.
Batting first Patna piled up mammoth 202 runs off 20 overs. Captain Rajesh Sinha played brilliant knock of 65 for Patna. In reply, Sheikhpura were all out for 67 runs off 19.5 overs.
Results at other venues
At Bhagalpur: Begusarai beat Purnia by seven wickets.
At Aurangabad: Aurangabad beat Rohtas by six wickets.
At Jehanabad: Gaya beat Arwal by 56 runs. Nawada beat Jehanabad by six runs.
At Muzaffarpur: East Champaran beat West Champaran by 8 runs.
At Saharsa: Saharsa got walk-over against Kishanganj.
At Samastipur: Lakhisarai beat Banka by three wickets.
At Siwan: Siwan beat Gopalganj by six wickets.
