AITA talent series: 3 Bihar players in last eight

Three Bihar players Rishu Raj, Ishank Ravi and Adamya Vikrant stormed into the quarter-finals of the boys’ under-18 singles in the All India Tennis Association (AITA) talent series tournament at the Patliputra Colony courts here on Tuesday.
Rishu Raj had a cake-walk against his teammate Balbir Singh 6-0, 6-1 while Ishank Ravi struggled hard to down Sukh Simran of Punjab 7-5, 7-5. Adamya Vikrant had no trouble to outsmart Ravi Kant (Bihar) 6-1, 6-1 in pre-quarter-final matches.

Results: boys’ U-18 singles (pre-quarter-finals)
Rishu Raj (Bihar) beat Balbir Singh (Bihar) 6-0, 6-1; Ishank Ravi (Bihar) beat Sukh Simran Pal Singh (Punjab) 7-5, 7-5; Adamya Vikrant (Bihar) beat Ravikant Sahu (Bihar) 6-1, 6-1; Pradeep Kumar (UP) beat Nawaid Beg (UP) 6-1, 6-1 and Siddharth Vishkarma (UP) beat Samresh Singh (UP) 6-2, 6-4.


Boys’ U-16 singles (first round): Rahul Singh (Delhi) beat Vipul Jain (Delhi) 6-0, 6-0; Aman Kumar (Bihar) beat Adarsh Anand (Bihar) 6-3, 6-4; Aditya Kumar Vishkarma (UP) beat Tilak Raj (Bihar) 6-0, 6-1; Srikrishna (Bihar) beat A Nair (UP) 6-0, 6-2; Pradeep Kumar (UP) beat Kumar Manglam (Bihar) 6-0, 6-0; Anish Anupam (Bihar) beat Sangam Raja (Bihar) 7-5, 6-2 and Ishan Priyadarshi (Bihar) beat Balbir Singh (Bihar) 6-1, 6-2.
