Holy Mission School, Samastipur earned a berth in the pre-quarter-finals of the 24th All India Sukhdeo Narain memorial inter-school cricket tournament edging out Sri Mahanth Harihar Das High School, Patna by two wickets in a third round encounter at the DAV Public School, BSEB Colony ground here on Tuesday.
Holy Mission School captain Santosh, who scored 41 runs with six boundaries, was adjudged man of the match.
Holy Mission School won the toss and asked Mahant Harihar Das boys to bat first. They scored 151 runs off 29.5 overs. Harish (26), Sanddep (20) and Ranjeet (21) were the useful contributors. Mr Extra top scored with 40 runs. Atmeswar and Santosh bagged three and two wickets each for 24 and 14 runs respectively.
In reply, Samastipur boys gathered the required runs in 25.4 overs for the loss of eight wickets. Manish (25) and Avinash (23 not out) shone with the bat. Sandeep claimed three wickets.
