Bokaro High School, Bokaro became the first team to enter the quarter-finals of the 24th All-India Sukhdeo Narain memorial inter-school cricket tournament defeating Don Bosco Academy, Patna by five wickets at the DAV Public School, Board Colony ground here on Wednesday.
Batting first Don Bosco Academy boys looked uncomfortable against the accurate attack of Bokaro School and lost wickets at regular interval to be all out for a paltry 92 runs off 27.4 overs. Opener Sachin Sinha top scored with his 21 runs. He struck two boundaries.
Spinners Mithilesh, Sarvesh and Mani brought in the Don Bosco collapse sharing eight wickets among them. Mithilesh was the pick of the bowlers claiming four wickets for 19 runs off 6 overs. Sarvesh and Mani claimed two wickets each for 16 and 7 runs respectively.
In reply, Bokaro boys suffered a jolt losing their opener Sarvesh for just one run on the board. Firoz and Mani combined together for the second wicket to put on a 72-run partnership paving the way for a resounding victory. Firoz made 36 with five hits to the fence while Mani scored 30 with four boundaries.
