22nd National sub-junior badminton begins

The 22nd National sub-junior and mini badminton championships began at the Secretariat Badminton Hall here today with the qualifying matches.

Bihar Badminton Association secretary KN Jaiswal said altogether 292 players would be vying for spots in the main draw. On the opening day, 246 matches would be played on the five courts of the hall, he added.

The main championships, however, will begin from November 12.

The BBA secretary also announced the Bihar teams for the championships.
Bihar Team: Mini boys’ singles: Neeraj Kumar, Nitesh Kumar, Gulshan Kumar and Subham.
Mini boys’ doubles: Neeraj Kumar and Nitesh Kumar; Gulshan Kumar and Subham.
Mini girls’ singles: Purva, Surabhi, Bahmala Hembrum and Gloria Annesha Antony.
Mini girls doubles: Gloria and Surabhi; Purva and Bahmala.
Sub-junior boys’ singles: Rajesh Kumar, Zeeshan Ali, Ujawal and Gaurav Siddarth.
Sub-junior boys’ doubles: Rajesh Kumar and Zeeshan Ali; Ujawal and Gaurav Siddarth.
Sub-junior girls’ singles: Alka Kumari, Archana Kumari, Akansha Kumari and Ankita.
