Kaimur wrestlers hogged limelight clinching the overall championships title with four gold medals in the 54th Bihar State Open wrestling championships at Ram Dayal Stadium, Mahuar (Kaimur) on Sunday.
The meet that was organized in seven weight categories saw Kaimur grapplers grabbing four gold, two silver and three bronze meads to make it a total 9 medals.
Bihar Police finished runners-up with one gold, 2 silver medals while. Buxar with one gold and as many silver and bronze medals and Jehanabad with one gold, one silver and one bronze medals shared the third position. Patna with one silver and two bronze medals got the fourth place.
Earlier, All-India Wrestling Federation vice-president Vrijbhushan Singh inaugurated the meet. Bihar Wrestling Association top office-bearers Dasarath Yadav, Awadhesh Singh and Kameshwar Singh were present during the championships. Mohania SDM Nagina Sharma distributed the prize. He also felicitated retired wrestlers of Kaimur. About 200 wrestlers from all over Bihar participated in the championship.
