SNM cricket: Impressive win for SDS Public School

Patna, November 15
SDS Public School registered an overwhelming 167-run win over Sadhu Lal Prithwi Chand High runs in a second round match of the 24th All India Sukhdeo Narain memorial inter-school cricket tournament at the DAV Public School, BSEB Colony ground here on Saturday.

Dinesh Yadav of winning team, who scored 66 runs with helped of five boundaries and five sixes and captured five wickets, was declared man of the match.

Asked to bat first, SDS Public School boys made towering 252 runs off 29.3 overs. Sunny Kumar (53), Ajeet (50) and Dinesh Yadav (66) were the notable contributors. Farhat Khan claimed four wickets for 48 runs.

In reply, SLPCHS boys were bundled out for 85 runs in 19.1 overs. Rahman made 16 runs. Dinesh Yadav claimed five wickets for 17 runs.

Brief scores: SDS Public School: 252 all out in 29.3 overs (Dheeraj-20, Sunny-53, Ajeet-50, Mukesh-19, Dinesh Yadav-66, Rahman-4/48, gazal-3/30). SLPC High School: 85 all out in 19.1 overs (Rahman-16, Farhat Khan-11, Dinesh Yadav-5/17, Mukesh-4/26)

On Friday, Lord Buddha Public School thrashed St Joseph's Academy by seven wickets in a second round match. Veer Pratap of Lord Buddha,who claimed four wickets for 19 runs and made 14 runs, was declared man of the match.

Batting first, St Joseph's Academy scored 86 runs in 23.5 overs. Sunny top scored with 27 (3x4) runs. Deepak (13) and Pawan (12) were the other batsmen to reach the double figures. In reply, Lord Buddha boys collected the required runs in 12 overs losing three wickets.

Big win for Dony Polo School
Dony Polo Public School hammered out RPS School by ten wickets in the Super 30 Challenge Cup inter-school cricket tournament at the Patna College ground here on Saturday.
Batting first, RPS stumbled out for 39 runs only off 16.4 overs. In reply, Dony Polo boys hit up the required runs in 5.1 overs without loss.

AN College claim title
AN College, Patna annexed the Magadh University (MU) inter-college volleyball championship title defeating Nalanda College, Biharsharif 3-0 in the final at their home ground.
Dr Sitaram Singh, Principal, AN College, Patna distributed the prizes. Prof AK Nayak of IIBM was present in the prize distribution function.

Abhishek bags chess crown
Abhishek Anand with four points claimed the College of Commerce chess championship title here on Saturday. Saurav Kumar and Suman Kumar grabbed the second and third position respectively.
Dr Suresh Prasad Singh, Principal, gave away the prizes.

Civil services carrom meet
All India Civil services carrom championship will be held at the Bihar Secretariat Badminton Hall from November 21, according to Ashok Kumar Mishra, convenor of the championship.

He said that for smooth conduct of the championship, an organising committee headed by RJM Pillai, IAS (chief patron) had been formed. Other important members of the committee are; Anjani Kumar Singh, IAS (patron), Deepak Kumar, IAS (president), Jitendra Kumar Sinha, DM, Patna (secretary), Amaresh Kumar Sinha (treasurer) and Ashok Kumar Mishra (convenor).

Uppal to represent India
Bihar’s teenage karate sensation Amrit Lekh Uppal, a student of Patna Central School has been selected to represent India in the Asia Open Cup karate championship to be held in Malaysia from December 19.
