Dony Polo Public School maintained their winning streak in the 24th All-India Sukhdeo Narain memorial inter-school cricket tournament edging out Lord Buddha Public School by 33 runs in a pre-quarter-final match at the DAV Public School, BSEB Colony ground here on Friday.
Dony Ploo boys dished out an impressive show in the match. Kislay Kanan made a crackling half-century (52) with five hits to the fence when his team was asked to bat first by Lord Buddha Public School captain. Kanan was later adjudged man of the match for his brilliant display with the bat.
Dony Polo boys scored 162 for nine wickets in the stipulated 30 overs. Manish was the pick of the bowlers claiming three wickets.
In reply, Lord Buddha boys stumbled out for 129 in 26.1 overs. Nilesh bagged three wickets for 16 runs in his five overs spell.

Earlier, on Thursday, Holy Mission School, Samastipur earned a place in the quarter-finals trouncing St Karen’s High School by 50 runs in a pre-quarter-final match.

Prem Kumar Suman of Holy Mission School stroked in a quick-fire 82 off 42 balls to propel his side to 163 runs all out off 28.3 overs. Prem’s knock was studded with four boundaries and eight sixes. Later, he was declared man of the match. Kabir Sanyal bagged four wickets for St Karen’s School.
In reply, St Karen’s could manage to score 113 runs off 26.1 overs. Tushar top scored with 55 (8x4) runs. Avinash took two wickets for nine runs.

Concept Academy in Challenge Cup semis
Concept Academy moved into the semi-finals of the Super 30 Challenge Cup inter-school cricket tournament beating Birsa Munga School by nine wickets at the Patna College ground here on Friday.
Suman of Concept Academy, who claimed five wickets for 16 runs, was declared man of the match.Batting first, Birsa Munda boys scored 53 runs off 14.2 overs. In reply, Concept Academy lads reached the target losing only one wicket.
Earlier on Thursday, Dony Polo Public High School entered the semi-finals defeating Don Bosco School, Darbhanga by five wickets.
Amit of Dony Polo, who claimed five wickets for 20 runs, was named man of the match.Batting first, Don Bosco boys scored 90 runs off 19.1 overs. In reply, Dony Polo boys raced to the target in 13.4 overs for the loss of five wickets.
