BCA T20 tournament: Rajesh to lead Patna team

Patna, November 20, 2008
Rajesh Kumar Sinha of Patna Electric Supply Undertaking (PESU) will lead a 14-member Patna district team against Sheikhpura in the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) Inter-District Twenty20 cricket championships to be played here on November 23, according to Ram Kumar, assistant secretary, Patna District Cricket Association (PDCA).

TEAM: Rajesh Kumar Sinha (captain), Arvind Jha (vice-captain), Kumar Mridul, Kumar Aditya, Rajesh Kumar Rana, Shashi Bhushan, Ram Veenit Saran, Nishant Kumar (wicketkeeper), Satish Kumar, Indrajeet Kumar, Nishant Kumar, Amiyakar Prakash, Rajeev Kumar and Kundan Gupta. Manager cum coach: Tarun Kumar.

Patna Central School win
Patna Central School (PCS) found a place in the the quarter-finals of the Super 30 Challenge Cup inter-school cricket tournament beating Gayatri International by one wicket at the Patna College ground here on Wednesday.

Kundan of PCS, who remained unbeaten on 55 runs and took two wickets, was declared man of the match.

Gayatri International School scored 149 all out in 24.3 overs while PCS chased in successfully for the loss of nine wickets.

Civil services carrom meet
Defending champions Dinesh Khedekar of RSB, Mumbai and Sharmila, RSB, Chennai have been given top seeding in the men and women’s section respectively of the All India Civil Services carrom tournament beginning at the Secretariat Badminton Hall here from November 21, according to tournament convenor Ashok Kumar Mishra.

He said Tripura Secretariat, RSB, Hyderabad, RSB, Ahmedabad, Gujarat Secretariat and Uttar Pradesh Secretariat teams had already arrived here to take part in the meet.

BD Evening College claim MU cricket title
BD Evening College won the Magadh University (MU) inter-college cricket championship title beating Jagat Narain Lal College (JNLC) by 85 runs at the Sanjay Gandhi Stadium here on Tuesday.

Batting first, BD Evening College piled up 165 for the loss of eight wickets off 30 overs. In reply, Jagat Narain Lal College stumbled out for 65 runs. Dr Subhash Prasad Singh, principal, BD Evening College and Dr Babban Singh, principal, Jagat Narain Lal College jointly distributed the prizes.

Tenni-koit tourney
Star India women's tenni-koit championship will be held here from December 8, according to Niraj Kumar Pappu, secretary, Bihar Tenni-Koit Association.
He said chairman-cum-managing director of Star India Construction Company, SB Prasad, had been named chairman of the organising committee. The last date for entry is November 30. The championship will be organised in U-12, U-14 and U-16 age group sections. About 200 players are likely to take part in the championship.
