Devpriya Jaiswal of Bihar won his second All India Tennis Association (AITA) talent series title in a row within a week. In the second tournament of the series, Devpriya struggled hard to down Keshav Kishan of Maharashtra 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 to claim the boys’ under -18 singles title at the Patliputra Colony courts here on Saturday.
Keshav was in a terrific form in the first set. He broke Devpriya service twice and took the first set at 7-5. But in the next two sets, Devpriya found his form to minimize the unforced errors. He won the next two sets quite easily and bagged the title.
Devpriya’s elder sister Shruti was as usual into her business in the girls’ under-18 final against state mate Madhu Jaiswal. Shruti had not find any notable resistance against Madhu and won the match and the title.
Later, Shruti added doubles title to her kitty. Pairing with Ayushi Yadav of Uttar Pradesh, she drubbed the Bihar-UP combination of Madhu Jaiswal and Sivana Zaidi 6-2, 6-2 to capture the crown.
It was Shruit’s second grand double in week. Earlier on May 22, she won the singles and doubles titles in the first tournament of this series.
