Amar Cricket Club chalked out a narrow five-run victory over Young Men’s Cricket Club (YMCC) in the Patna District Cricket Association (PDCA) senior division league at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Saturday. Earlier in the first match, Prabha XI defeated Navshakti Niketan by 19 runs.
Batting first, Prabha XI scored 106 all out off 21.5 overs. Munchun slammed 38 runs to become top scorer for his side. CM Yadav took three wickets for 25 runs while Rajesh Choudhary bagged two wickets for 30 runs.
In reply, Navshakti Niketan could manage to score 87 runs off 19 overs. Rupesh scored 18 runs. Nikhil, Pawan, Raghunath and Sandeep all took two wickets each.
In the second match, Amar Cricket Club made 122 runs for the loss of nine wickets off 25 overs. Rupak (25), Pankaj (38) and Sanotsh (25) were the notable condtributors. Santosh and Sandeep grabbed two wickets each.
In reply, YMCC were able to score 117 runs for the loss of eight wickets off 25 overs. Santosh hit a defiant half-century (51). But his effort was not enough to see his team through. Sanjeev Sharma bagged three wickets for 20 runs and Pankaj captured two wickets for 21 runs.
