St Michael's School win Father Arrupe cricket trophy; Don Bosco Academy lose in final

St Michael’s school won the 11th Father Arrupe memorial inter-school cricket trophy defeating Don Bosco Academy by 28 runs at their home ground here on Wednesday.

Batting first, St Michael’s School boys made 119 for the loss of four wickets off 20 overs. Gaurav (40), Fahad (40) and Jayant (31) produced substantial contribution with the bat. Ankur and Abhishek took one wicket each.

In reply, Don Bosco Academy crawled to 91 all out off 20 overs. Amitesh (24) and Sachin (17) gave a brief resistance to St Michael’s attack. Pushkar took three wickets for 22 runs while Vikram got two wickets for 20 runs.

Arun Kumar Singh, Principal Accountant General, who was the chief guest at the closing function, gave away the prizes. St Michael’s School principal, Father Peter Arockiasamy, SJ, welcome the guests. Father Joseph Maripuram, SJ, Rector of the school was also present at the prize-distribution function.

Don Bosco Academy: 91 all out ( Sachin 17, Amitesh 24, Vikram 2 for 20, Pushkar 3 for 22).
