Jayanta Talukdar won the individual recurve gold medal on Saturday out-shooting Athens Olympic gold medallist Marco Galiazzo of Italy by 110 points to 108 in the final of the archery World Cup Stage II at Porec, Croatia.
According to information reached here, the win enabled Talukdar to win a double gold medal. The first gold of the meet came through the team championship.
Talukdar also won his third head-to-head contest against the Italian all played at Porec. He first tamed Galiazzo in 2006 on way to the gold medal, and again beat him in 2008 and now in the final.

He surprisingly conceded two points in the third end to allow the Italian to narrow the gap to 81-82. When Galiazzo hit an 8 with his second arrow of the final end of the three arrows, the Indian needed a nine to win. Instead he hit a 10 to take the second crown in Porec.
