Vipal surges into lead in Bihar FIDE rating chess

Vipal Subhashi surged into lead with five points after the end of as many rounds in the Bihar State senior FIDE rating chess championships in Madhubani on Saturday.

According to information reached here, Vipal came out with two stunning performances on Saturday. He first beat Saurav Roop in the fourth round and then outplayed higher ranked YP Srivastava in the fifth round to collect full points.

PK Singh and Kumar Vinay were at joint second position with 4.5 points each.

Krishna Prasad (3.5) drew with Sameer Kumar (3.5), Vicky Vishal (3.5) drew with Nand Kishore (3.5), Minhazul Haq (4) beat Prem Vardhan (3), Sanjeev Kumar (4) beat Srishti Gautam (3), Saurav Roop (4) bear Aryan (3), Vikesh Nandan (4) beat Vijay Kumar (3), Abhay Kumar Sinha (4) beat Rahul Kumar Singh (3) and Ashutosh Kumar (4) beat Sameer Sengar (3).
