Atma Ram U-17 chess: Easy wins for top players

Patna, June 4, 2009

Rupesh Ranjan, Nilesh Shankar, Rishi Shankar, Siddarth Khanna and Ayush Anand were among the leading players, who won their first round matches to collect full points in the Atma Ram memorial Patna district under-17 chess championships at NSM Residential Public School hall here on Thursday.


Earlier, Anil Sulabh, director, Indian Institute of Health Education and Research inaugurated the tournament. Special guests Dr SB Pandey, Mukteshwar Dayal, Khurshid Alam, NK Sinha, Fazal Mahmood and Surya Kumar Pandey were present at the opening function. Nalin Dayal welcomed the guests while Patna District Chess Association secretary Rakesh Ranjan proposed a vote of thanks.


Results: Rupesh Ranjan (1) beat Kumar Harshvardhan Singh (0), Nilesh Shankar (1) beat Kumar Sambhav (0), Rishishankar (1) beat Kumar Vishesh (0), Siddarth Kahanna (1) beat Kumari Srishti (0), Ayush Anand(1) beat Navin Kumar (0), Prince Kumar (1) beat Ayush Kashyap (0), Ashish Raj (1) beat Rupam Kumari (0), Sashi Nand Kumar (1) beat Abhisshek Kumar (0), Alok Priyadarshi (1) beat Sunil Kumar (0), Amit Kumar Gupta (1) beat Vishal Kumar (0) and Himanshu Harsh beat Zartav Jockey (0).
