AITA talent series: Adamya in boys' U-16 final

Adamya Vikrant of Bihar will take on Aditya Kumar Vishwakarma in the under-16 boys’ singles final of the All India Tennis Association (AITA) talent series tournament at the Patliputra Colony courts here.

In the semi-finals on Friday, Adamya Vikrant outgunned Amritanjay Kumar (UP) 6-2, 6-3 while Aditya Kumar Vishwakarma rallied to beat Ishank Ravi (Bihar) 6-7, 6-4, 6-4.

Adamya Vikrant moved in for a double crown as the Bihar lad entered the final of the boys’ under-18 category defeating Venkat Siddarth (Bihar) 6-3, 6-3. In the final, Adamya is likely to face Devepriya Jaiswal, who was leading 4-0 in the third set against Arpit Sharma when the match called off for the day. Both had won one set each.

In the girls’ under-18 section, Sripriya Sarraf of Bihar qualified for the final defeating Manuela Gomes of Delhi 2-6, 6-4, 7-6.
