AITA talent series: Devepriya-Adamya in doubles final

Poor condition of the Patliputra Colony courts caused by overnight rains hampered the day’s play in the All India Tennis Association (AITA) talent series here on Thursday, as only three doubles matches were possible.

In the boys’ under-18 doubles, the pair of Devepriya Jaiswal and Adamya Vikarnt (both Bihar) outplayed Bheeshmak Srivastava and Ravi Kant Sahu (both UP) 7-5, 6-2 to move into the final. The Bihar pair, now, will take on Bihar-UP combination of Aman Kumar and Amrittanjay Kumar, who beat another Bihar-UP pair of Venkat Siddarth and Sunal Asthana 6-3, 2-6, 7-6.

In the boys’ under-16 doubles, Anand Mohan Singh and Soumya Raj (both from Bihar) edged out Vaibhav Kumar (Bihar) and Nirmal Yadav (WB) 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 to enter the final.
