Three players shared the lead with as many points points each at the end of the third round play of the Atma Ram memorial Patna district under-17 chess championships at NSN Residential Public School Hall here on Friday.
On the top of the table were Rupesh Ranjan, Nilesh Shankar and Ayush Anand. Seven players closely following the leaders with two points each were Rishi Shankar, Siddarth Khanna, Ayush Kashyap, AlokPriyadarshi, Kumari Srishti, Prince Kumar and Sashi Nand.
On the top board, international rated player Rupesh Ranjan, playing with white against Siddarth Khanna, began with Kings pawn opening. Siddarth applied Sicilian Pelican defence. Siddarth committed a blunder on the 17th move and came under severe pressure. On the 40th move, he finally resigned.
