AITA talent series: Six Bihar players advance to pre-quarterfinals

The third tournament of the All India Tennis Association (AITA) talent series began at the Patliputra Colony courts here on Monday with six Bihar players moving into the pre-quarter-finals in the boys’ under-18singles.

Shree Krishna led the Bihar progress with an easy 6-0, 6-0 win over Abhilash Nair of Uttar Pradesh.Other Bihar players, who made the last 16 grades, were Soumya Raj, Ishan Ravi, Vaibhav Kumar, Om Prakash and Venkat Siddarth.

In the girls’ under-18 section, Madhu Jaiswal of Bihar had a cakewalk against her state mate Shwetangi Sah 6-0, 6-1 to enter the quarterfinals. Assam lass Pamir Gogoi also moved into the quarterfinals with an identical victory over Bhavya Verma (Bihar).
