Patna, June 9, 2009Maharashtra boys chalked out two victories to strengthen their claims for a quarter-final spot in the 24th National sub-junior tenni-koit championships at the Patna Central School courts here on Tuesday.
Maharashtra thrashed Jharkhand 3-0 in their first match of the boys’ section. In the next match against Chattishgarh, they produced an identical win. In the same group, defending champions Tamil Nadu started their campaign in style trouncing Madhya Pradesh 3-0.
West Bengal boys too recorded fluent wins over Chhatishgarh and Jharkhand.In girls’ group, Tamil Nadu proved their superiority over Madhya Pradesh (3-0) and Punjab (3-0). Karnataka, Maharashtra and Orisaa were the other teams who registered impressive wins in the day’s play.
