Prakash strikes 32 goals in senior women's hockey

Patna, January 24, 2011: Orissa defeated Delhi 5-2 in a Pool G match on day four of the 1st Hockey India Senior National women championship at Rai, Sonepat on Monday.

According to information reached here, Surabhi and Lilima scored three and two goals respectively for the winners while Shweta Sharma and Praveen Rana were the goal scorers for Delhi.

In other matches Punjab beat Maharashtra 6-0 and Rajasthan whitewashed Tripura Olympic Association 34-0 while Chandigarh was held by Madhya Pradesh Sports and Youth Welfare 1-1.

Anuradha Thokchom scored 3 goals for Punjab including a penalty corner and penalty stroke while Amandeep and Internationals Lalremruati Khiangte and Vartika Singh scored once each.

Striker Prakash Chaudhary entered her name in the record books when she slammed 32 goals including 6 penalty corners in Rajasthan's triumph over Tripura Olympic Association. Sonam and Navpreet accounted for the other two goals.

Chandigarh were held to a 1-1 draw by MP Sports and Youth Welfare in a Pool F match. Nishi found the mark found for Chandigarh while Ranjeeta equalized for Madhya Pradesh.
