Patna, January 21, 2011: East Zone Inter-audit and accounts chess championships began at the AG Bihar hall here on Friday. On the first day Pankaj Kumar Choudhary of AG, Bihar, Devashish Barua and Goutam Sen (both Eastern Railway, Kolkata) shared the lead with two points after the end of as many rounds.
Earlier, Preman Deenaraj, chief accountant general (audit), Bihar, inaugurated the tournament.
Results: Pankaj Kumar Choudhary (2) bt Sujit Kumar Sinha (1); Devashish Barua (2) bt Tanmay Janna (1); Gautam Sen (2) bt Sanjit Kumar Das (1); Jhantu Lal Roy (1) bt Amit Ranjan Yadav (0); DP Kaushal (1) bt Om Prakash Singh (0) and Gautam Sarkar (.5) drew with BK Jha (0.5).
