Manoj, Devpriya enter semifinals

Patna, January 13, 2011: Manoj Sewa (West Bengal), Devpriya Jaiswal (Bihar), Saneesh Mani Mishra (Uttar Pradesh) and Chandrashekhar Mohanty (Assam) booked their berths in the men’s singles semifinals of the Deshratna Dr Rajendra Prasad Memorial All-India Ranking Tennis Tournament at the Patliputra Colony courts here on Thursday.

Top seed Manjo Sewa overcame a stiff challenge from Kamlesh Shukla (Uttar Pradesh) 6-2,4-6, 6-0, Devpriya Jaiswal took three sets to down Robin Das (West Bengal) 6-0, 2-6, 6-2, Saneesh Mani Mishra tamed Aman Kumar (Bihar) 6-2, 6-2 while Chandrashekhar Mohanty drubbed Bibaswan Deb (West Bengal) 6-1, 6-2.

In the last women’s singles quarterfinal, Shruti Jaiswal (Bihar) outpaced Bobby Yadav (Uttar Pradesh) 6-0, 6-0 and moved into the semifinal.
