Patna, January 14, 2011: Bihar boys chalked out a comprehensive 7-wicket win over Sikkim in the BCCI Associated Members U-19 Tournament in Bhillai on Friday.
According to information reached here, Sikkim won the toss and decided to bat first. Sikkim could not do much against Bihar bowling attack to be bowled out for 131 runs off 36 overs. Nishant Prakash wreaked havoc with his medium pace taking four wickets for 22 runs. For Sikkim Ashish Thapa (36), Danish Roy (22) and Gopal Sharma (18) showed some resistance against Bihar attack.
In reply Bihar raced to the target losing three wickets. Vikash Ranjan top scored with 56 runs. He cracked 6 fours and one six off 54 balls. Mangal Mahroor made run-a-ball 48 with four boundaries and two sixes. Pritam claimed two wickets.
With this win Bihar earned bonus point. It was Bihar’s second victory in the championships.
